Our Philosophy
Welcome to Hobnob, the premier dog care facility in the Denver Metro area! Let our experienced and thoughtful staff care for your pet in a facility designed to provide healthy socialization, vital exercise and sumptuous rest. We offer the finest accommodations, including a year-round indoor pool and clean, comfortable rooms with beds. Whether it’s just for the day or for an overnight stay, your pet will be treated with kindness and afforded comforts not available anywhere else in the Metro Denver area.
Every design choice, from the size of the pool to the classical music played during rest time, was made with your pet’s contentment in mind. We can easily customize a package to meet the exercise needs of your active pet or design one for your older pet who may need breaks throughout the day. We even have adjoined family rooms to accommodate families who want to share a room! If your pet just wants to drop by for a swim or to take a soothing bath, we have ample and lush facilities to accommodate them. Staff
Our staff is headed up by owner Kari Shohet, who has loved and worked with dogs all her life. Early on, she was active in the guide dog program, including an internship during college to place dogs that could not pass the rigors of the training. Kari has a special affinity for these “career change” dogs, ensuring they found and were placed in supportive adoptive homes. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and is a certified trained EMT. She spent twelve years working for a national major pet store, earning the title of Area Dog Trainer, with the responsibility for “training the trainers” . When she envisioned HobNob, it was to meet the needs of owners and pets that were not being addressed by standard kennels. HobNob provides high-end hotel services and amenities which clearly surpass what is offered by a boarding or kenneling facility.
Facilities
Our facility is located at 8990 W. Colfax Ave., in the heart of central west Metro Denver. We have close to 9000 square feet of accommodations, including a 3000 square foot outdoor play area with artificial turf. You won’t find stinky “pea gravel” anywhere on our facility for your pet to stand on or accidentally ingest. Our turf is regularly hosed down and cleaned, with a drainage layer to remove and dispose of nasty smells and unhealthy bacteria. It’s firmly anchored to ensure that it cannot be pulled up or consumed.
Our indoor facility includes a play area, pool, self-service wash, and hotel rooms for rest and relaxation. We have a security and fire alarm system to provide the utmost in safety for our guests. We even have webcams in our play areas that are visible online, if you want to check in or just grab a quick glimpse of your pet. Stop by on your way out to pick up the latest in pet food, treats, and toys or to replace that worn collar or leash. Whatever your pets needs, we are here to help!
